“If we can improve the images of the world, perhaps we can improve the world.” Wim Wenders

When it gets dark, while the spool switches it’s rattling behind spectators, the small stories leave to meet the big Story. For the 20th consecutive edition from June to September, the Cinésites Festival confirms its willingness to celebrate the legacy and heritage film promoting their meeting under the stars. Then time is suspended, giving a way to a unique experience, in a magic atmosphere.

Forests, castles, churches, Roman amphitheaters, villages’ places, old factories being reused and many more places are thus sublimated by free inspected open air sessions, because of many privileged and friendly exchanges around eclectic movies, both art-house and commercial cinema.

In 2013, the Cinésites invites you to take a sit in order to enjoy films like: Sylvain Estibal’s When Pigs Have Wings in Saint-Macaire (33), Eric Bergeron’s A Monster in Paris in Montendre (17), Jean-Jacques Annaud’s Two Brothers in the Domaine de Cessac (33), Jean Becker’s My Afternoons with Margueritte in the amphitheatre of Saint-Marcel (36), Michel Gondry’s Be Kind Rewind and Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris in Gradignan (33), Alexandre de La Patellière and Matthieu Delaporte’s Le Prénom [The Name] in Réaux (17), Xavier Beauvois’ Of Gods and Men at Cour Mably in Bordeaux and François Truffaut’s The 400 Blows at Grand Parc in Bordeaux.

On the occasion of our 20th anniversary, we are pleased to offer three drive-in projections: at the I.Boat in Bordeaux, George Lucas’s American Graffiti, and in Mérignac, the projection of Stanley Donen’s film Some Like It Hot and Black Cat, White Cat.

The free access to projections wouldn’t be possible without our public and private partners, those who year after year join us through the summer and organize concerts, exhibitions, craft markets, picnics before the projections. Thus, a Cinésites session is also a moment of exchange and a festive and convivial reunion.

Have a nice Festival !
